Will Steur: From Walk-On To Scholarship Hometown Bearcat
Coming out of Cincinnati Madeira High School, not many expected much out of offensive lineman walk-on offensive lineman Will Steur.
A true “Bearcat” with both parents having graduated from UC. Steur fully understood what he was walking into when he agreed to becoming a walk-on with the Bearcats.
Dreaming of being a college football player is not the dreams of the work needed when one takes the path of a walk-on as there is much sacrifice on and off the field. Just to be noticed is often filled with bumps, bruises and heart ache with many never seeing a reward in the end.
For Steur, 2016 saw some movement as he started five games while seeing action in a total of ten games.
However, when Luke Fickell became the Bearcats head coach, Steur quickly learned his future was about to change and a dream many said he may never see, was coming true.
Bearcat Insider caught up with Steur about his UC journey and how excited he is to be blocking for some very talented running backs this fall.
