Tate Goodyear is listed at a 6’4″ and 275 pound offensive lineman that is a member of the 2018 class. Goodyear attends Sycamore High School and was offered this weekend after attending a Bearcats camp. At the time it was Goodyear’s 21st offer, but now he is sitting at 22 because he was offered by Colorado State yesterday.
He is rated as a three-star prospect by both 247 and Scout, 247’s crystal ball has him pointing towards Cincinnati as his destination.
Goodyear’s thoughts on being offered by Cincinnati:
“It meant a lot for UC to offer it is a dream to have an opportunity to play for a local team and they have such a great staff”
Goodyear was on campus for a visit a few weeks ago and attended a Cincinnati camp over the weekend.
He also let me know he doesn’t have a list of top schools yet and didn’t drop any nuggets on when he may form that list.
Goodyear also let me know what he wants to work on during his senior season and what his strengths are:
“My quickness to go along with my size and strength are my strengths.”
“I plan to continue to work on my footwork and just get stronger and faster.”
He hasn’t set a commitment date, but he has enjoyed his time on Cincinnati’s campus. Will Goodyear be another hometown kid to join the program? Only time will tell, but this week the Bearcats let him know that he is welcome to join by extending an offer to the lineman.
