Luke Fickell on Handling Crowd at The Big House
Michigan Stadium, nicknamed “The Big House”, is a 12th man for the Michigan Wolverines and will come alive Saturday afternoon when the University of Cincinnati and head coach Luke Fickell kickoff against the Wolverines in their first home game of the season.
A major underdog before the coin flip, several members of the Bearcats football team made the trip to another big stadium in 2014 when the Bearcats took on Ohio State.
With present capacity at 107,601, the stadium on the corner of South Main and Stadium, has been around since 1927. Believe it or not, it was designed by Fielding Yost to grow from original capacity of 72,000 to over 100,000 as Yost envisioned Wolverines football growing over the years.
While Saturday’s crowd won’t be a record setting one, it will still prove a hindrance to the Bearcats and Coach Fickell spoke about how the Bearcats are preparing to handle things.
