Linden Stephens Post Spring Game 2017

By: Kennedy Ponder, Intern

Bearcat Insider caught up with senior cornerback Linden Stephens last night after Cincinnati’s annual spring game. He was on the red squad who lost 22-6. Linden says that he was very proud of his team last night and that a lot of things that he learned during spring football were executed last night as far as communication, moving towards the ball and covering your man. As for the red squad, he says that being able to be patient and stay patient was one of their big downfalls.

Coach Fickell put an emphasis on doing the little things right and both teams were able to exhibit that in the game. Linden had one tackle, a break up and a dropped interception. He spoke about the new coaching staff at UC and says that it has changed the entire culture of the program for the better. He says that coach Fickell is big on improving the small things in order to improve on the bigger team challenges. “I’m very excited to see what this next season brings,” as are the rest of #BearcatNation.

The Euclid, Ohio native will be a very valuable piece to the Bearcats secondary during the upcoming season. Make sure you keep an eye on the progress of Stephens because he has played a lot of snaps during his time at Cincinnati. The Bearcats will be back in Nippert August 31st playing against Austin Peay.

Managing Editor of Bearcat Insider, I've been on the BCI team the last couple of years. I made the final four in the Biggest Big East Fan contest in 2011, I covered UC also on Cincy on the Prowl. I'm just a lefty trying to get buckets in this game called life Van Exel style.
