Jayshon Jackson flips to Cincinnati

After a recent visit to Cincinnati, the former Toledo commit Jayshon Jackson committed to Cincinnati, Friday afternoon. Jackson is rated a 3 star player by Rivals, 247 and Scout, he is labeled as an Athlete on Scout and Rivals, on 247 he is labeled as a wide receiver. He is will be a wide receiver during his time in Clifton. He is a Chicago, Illinois native and currently attends Simeon (IL) and is the newest member of the 2018 class.

From watching tape of Jackson the first words that pop into my head is “playmaker”, he has a lot of speed and quickness, a guy you want to try to get the ball into his hands so he can make things happen.

I was able to speak with Jackson soon after he announced he committed to Cincinnati, check out what he had to say.

BCI: What made you reopened your commitment from Toledo?

JJ: I did a lot of thinking about if I made the wrong decision in committing to Toledo so I decided to reopen to get a clearer head.

BCI: Did the visit to UC sway you make the move?

JJ: The visit was unbelievable and it got my attention and I knew then that this is where I wanted to be.

BCI: Which coaches were you in contact with the most?

JJ: I was in contact with coach (running back) Gino (Guidugli) and coach (offensive coordinator Mike) Denbrock the most.

BCI: How excited is your family?

JJ: My family is really excited they had the same reaction I had to the campus visit.

BCI: What should Bearcats fans who haven’t been following you expect when you are wearing black and red?

JJ: They should expect me to come in as a true freshman and compete for a spot to make some big plays for the team

Check out a few tweets that were shot out once Jackson committed to the program.

Managing Editor of Bearcat Insider, I've been on the BCI team the last couple of years. I made the final four in the Biggest Big East Fan contest in 2011, I covered UC also on Cincy on the Prowl. I'm just a lefty trying to get buckets in this game called life Van Exel style.
