Jaylen Jackson Brings Solid Skill Set
The verbal pledge of Brunswick, Georgia senior two-way standout Jaylen Jackson should have University of Cincinnati fans excited.
Projected by most to be a safety, Jackson shows above average hands and great body control.
On film, Jackson can be seen making plays as a receiver, return man, hard hitting safety and ball hawking defender.
Listed at 6-foot, 180-pounds, with a reported forty time in the 4.5-4.6 range, Jackson should be able to add more bulk in the coming years to get closer to the 200-pound range you’d like to see.
However, it’s his ability to be physical in run support while also showing solid hands along with the ability to go up and catch the ball at its highest point that should have Bearcat fans excited.
Smooth in his back pedal, Jackson can flip his hips and get into coverage quickly. What we really like, is his balance at the point of contact.
In the Bearcats new defensive scheme, some former safeties have been asked to move up to linebacker. Jackson could become one of these type of players as he shows the toughness of a linebacker with solid tackling skills.
Here are some clips from this season of one of the newest Bearcats in the Class of 2018.
