Ja’von Hicks of Colerain (OH) commits to Cincinnati
Ja’von Hicks is a 6’2″ 185 pound athlete in the 2018 class, he also is a local kid as he attends Colerain High School and today he committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats football program. Hicks is the latest of multiple local talent to commit to the Bearcats since Luke Fickell has taken over at the helm.
Shortly after committing I was able to talk to Mr. Hicks:
BCI: What made you commit to Cincinnati today?
Hicks: I was ready to get this show on the road and Cincinnati was the place for me to be.
BCI: Which coaches were you in contact with the most?
Hicks: Head coach Luke Fickell and defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman.
BCI: How does it feel to be staying home? How excited is your family?
Hicks: It feels great to be staying home. My family will be able to come see all my games this is great, I’m just super excited.
BCI: Are you coming to play receiver at Cincinnati?
Hicks: I’m not sure, I’m either going to play receiver or safety. I’ll play whatever the team needs to win.
BCI: Last year was Cincinnati even on your radar? Are you close to the local talent coming in the ’17 and ’18 class?
Hicks: Nope, I didn’t have any connection to the previous coaching staff. I feel like Fickell is going to change this program. I’m really close to a few of the local members of the classes.
