Bearcats add seven more to 2018 class

Today was a good day for Luke Fickell and his crew. They got a few local prospects to come to Cincinnati. The biggest get maybe Dayton Dunbar’s Tavion Thomas who had multiple Power 5 offers.

Check out who the Bearcats added.

University of Cincinnati football head coach Luke Fickell announced seven additions to the Bearcats 2018 signing class on National Signing Day Tuesday. UC had previously added 22 players during the December early-signing period. Signing Day is presented by Nissan.

The 2018 class features 15 signees from Ohio,  and 19 from the 300-mile radius surrounding UC’s campus. It is UC’s highest-rated recruiting class, sitting No. 46 in both the 247Sports and Rivals.com rankings.

“Obviously a good closing day,” Fickell said. “We signed two local kids and added some much-needed length to our program. The most impressive thing is to see 15 guys from the state of Ohio and 19 from inside our 300-mile radius. It still leaves us a little bit of wiggle room to continue to do what we need to do and to also reward the guys who are in our program already.”

The signing day additions included TE Leonard Taylor (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield), who ranks No. 181 in the ESPN 300, RB Tavion Thomas (Dayton, Ohio/Dunbar), one of the top power backs in the Midwest and DL Myjai Sanders (Kingsland, Georgia/Camden County), who ESPN.com ranks as one of the Top-75 defensive ends in the 2018 class.

Managing Editor of Bearcat Insider, I've been on the BCI team the last couple of years. I made the final four in the Biggest Big East Fan contest in 2011, I covered UC also on Cincy on the Prowl. I'm just a lefty trying to get buckets in this game called life Van Exel style.
